Bill Bellamy came through to the “Ed Lover Show” and chatted about the creation of his Netflix comedy special. He says “Netflix is like the new HBO,” in terms of what they are doing for comedy. He also talks about Dave Chappelle‘s Netflix special, and why it’s so good; “Dave is the most courageous comedian in the world.” He explains how Dave’s educated background contributes to his unique brand of comedy.

Bill also talks about his first time doing stand-up on TV, at Showtime at the Apollo, “I didn’t realize they booed professionals,” he says, remarking about having witnessed professional acts come offstage after getting booed. He recalls rearranging his set last minute so he could grab the audience right away, and the first two jokes that really gained him audience approval.
