Wednesday is International Women’s Day and women all over the country are planning to attend rallies and marches in what organizers have dubbed “A Day Without a Woman.”
Much like last month’s “A Day Without Immigrants,” women will take part in a nationwide strike in a show economic solidarity and gender equality. Many of the organizers were also behind the Women’s March on Washington which took place after President Trump‘s inauguration. They’re asking women to go on strike if they can. If not, woman can show solidarity by wearing red. (USA Today)
- One of the objectives is to show how important women are in the workforce.
- Are you planning to join the nationwide walkout? Are you worried about your job?
- Organizers are also asking women not to shop in stores or online unless its at small businesses owned by women who support A Day Without a Woman.
